It’s God’s design that hundreds of millions of sperm cells result in only one success, which then turns into a human with trillions of cells. A 99.9995% failure rate turns into a 10,000 fold increase.

This is same way it seems to happen with sharing the gospel. Around the world, it’s often the case that it takes 100 gospel presentations for one person to lay down their life and receive Jesus as Lord and Saviour. But then that one person multiplies 30, 60 or 100 times. And because they’re in their relational spheres, instead of talking to strangers, those people tend to also multiply. And you can eventually end up with thousands.

We can get discouraged “failing” 99% of the time, but somehow this is God’s math and it all works out when the one sinner repents.

“I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.” – Luke 15:7
