Don’t you wish someone would just give you simple steps for things like how to read your Bible, how to pray, how to hear God’s voice and how to share the gospel?

Most of us want steps, and it’s what a lot of churches or Christian material provide. Including me. I really enjoy giving people steps.

You know what’s not in the New Testament?

OK, I actually found one example church discipline. Ironically, most churches don’t actually expel people anymore. And maybe another: Jesus sending out the 72. Also not common practice.

Hmm. Maybe steps aren’t the issue.
