Pray Attention

I don’t know if you can feel it, but it seems like something’s happening in the spiritual realm, and it’s being reflected in the physical realm. If this resonates with you, let’s pay attention and pray.

    • He has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is a consuming fire.” – Hebrews 12:25-29
    • Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.  – Ephesians 5:15

It’s a time for us to stay awake and be in prayer.

    • Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” – Matthew 26:40-41

We can’t afford to be distracted. We can’t even spend time thinking about how to gratify the desires of our flesh.

    • Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh. – Romans 13:14

We need to stay close to Jesus and in step with his Spirit.

    • Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. – Galatians 5:24-25

Because the time may be coming close.

    Let us be alert:

    • Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. – Mk 13:33
    • be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. – Eph 6:18
    • with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming – 1 Pe 1:13
    • The end of all things is near. Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. – 1 Pe 4:7
    • Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. – 1 Pe 5:8
