Sometimes I get excited about a certain concept, look it up in the Bible and find there’s not much written about it. Then I wonder, what were they talking about? Like, what are the main themes of the New Testament, without all our biases?

For one perspective, I put the whole Greek New Testament into a spreadsheet, combined similar words together and then made a pie chart out of the word counts. My first try revealed that it’s basically people walking and talking about God.

That was predictable, but not that helpful. So I weeded out the more generic words. The categorizations are somewhat arbitrary, but it still gives a general idea of what mattered to them.

You can look for your favourite topics and compare them to the other things that fill the pages of the New Testament.
