Heb 11:1-3 Faith

God is taking humanity on a journey of increased spirituality. From a physical garden to a spiritual kingdom, he’s revealing more about what’s really going on in the spirit realm to each successive generation.

I looked through the Bible for the first occurrence or mention of each spiritual manifestation, like, the first healing, or the first demon. These are the bullet points in bold.

I’m using the summary of history found in Hebrews 11 & 12 to put these into epochs of history.

You may find you’re personally on this journey. To help with that, I’ve included prayers for you to pray as a way to respond to each step.

Adam and Eve show us that the beginning of our relationship with God is faith. Satan used this opportunity to introduce, the opposite: doubt.

God reveals himself to us through creation, including making us in his image. From the beginning of time he’s been speaking to us and blessing us.

1) Adam’s Time: “FAITH is confidence in what we hope for” – Heb 11:1

  • vs. doubt – “God, by faith I cast off my doubts about you”
    • Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” (Gen 3:1)
  • In Creation – “God, by faith I clearly see you in creation”
    • since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen (Ro 1:19-20)
  • Blessing – “God, by faith I receive your blessing in my life”
    • God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.” (Gen 1:22)
  • In the Image of God – “God, by faith I believe I’m made in your image”
    • So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Gen 1:27)
  • God Speaks – “God, by faith I listen to your voice right now”
    • the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden…” (Gen 2:16)
