I received a prophetic word in 2003 that I go back to every once in a while to remember that God has called us to do impossible things, things we’re not capable of. Go ahead and receive whatever part of this resonates with you….
You have time, my son. You have time, says the Lord. You’re always concerned that you’re going to run out of time to get done everything that has to be done. And I want you to know, there’s time. I am Lord over time as well. And I’ve been putting some situations in your life that no amount of time is enough; no amount of time will solve, but faith will only solve. No amount of your effort. No amount of your intellect. No amount of your gifting will solve.
And you’re learning to move out of what’s been your life-long gifts and talents and your life-long strengths and to start to have to rely upon me, so that you have a double anointing. A natural anointing, a natural gifting, that will only get you so far down the road. It will get you farther… you know you can get farther down the road than most people have with the natural gifts that you have, but you can’t get down the road that you’ve been trying to get down. You can’t get down the road you want to get down. It’s going to take something more, and I’m bringing that to you, says the Lord.
I’m bringing to you the dynamic of learning how to defer, of how to put your best thoughts on the back burner. It’s all very simple to you, says the Lord. It’s all very clear, but it’s not always me. And I’m teaching you to labour through the intellectual challenges of these things. To labour through, “God, why– I mean, this makes sense in every place in the planet and everywhere I’ve been, but in this situation it doesn’t work and it doesn’t make sense. Why is this, God?” Because I am forcing you to have to be led by my Spirit. Because if I left you where you’re at you would live a life of faithful service, falling short of everything you I had for you, because you only did what you are capable of, not what you’re incapable of.
And I’m anointing you to do what you’re incapable of, says the Lord. I’m anointing you to break down walls that you’re incapable of breaking down. I’m anointing you to open doors that you would never have the key to. There’s a door you’ve been trying to get open. You’ve been trying for a number of years to get that door open. And I’m telling you, you can get a supernatural jackhammer or an atomic bomb and it will never open until I just say, “You know what, go ahead and go through.”
And I’m in the process of making you one who’s– it’s very uncomfortable to you to go with the flow. You’re learning what it means to go with the flow. You don’t like to go with the flow, in fact, you don’t like people that go with the flow because it drives you nuts sometimes. But I am teaching you and broadening you. And I’m not saying to set your brain aside. I’m not saying to set your gifts aside. I’m saying to build upon them and supersede them with an understanding that I can bring the thing to pass, with or without you. I want to do it with you.
There’ve been times, says the Lord, where you feel like, you know, if we don’t do it this way and if I don’t do this thing, man, I just don’t know if this thing’s ever going to happen and I’ve got to work so hard to pull this off. “No,” says the Lord, “that’s not necessarily true.” But I’m choosing to do these things through you, but I’m yoking you. I’m yoking you. I’m making you more than you’d ever imagine.
You’re going to become– There’s going to be a time, and this may sound funny to you that you’re going to have people saying, “You know what, why don’t we just slow down and think about this stuff a little bit, I mean, why don’t we just do a little analysis,” and so on. There’s going to be a time when they say that to you. Why? Because you’re able to be more than just what you are now.
You’ll have learned– and I don’t espouse, says the Lord, flighty Christians, and I don’t espouse wingding plans, and I don’t espouse brainless Christian living, but I do espouse the ability to run into things where your mind says “yes” and my Spirit says “no” and you choose “no” and your mind says “no” and my Spirit says “yes” and you choose “yes”. And that’s been a challenge for you up to this point, but this is the thing that I’m working on you in these situations you can’t get past right now. And so you will truly be faithful in what you know to do, be faithful in approaching, and then once you’ve got it all together, “OK God, do you agree? Father, this makes sense to me.” Yes: good, go. No: trust me that I’ll bring you wisdom, that I’ll bring the breakthrough.
I’m strengthening you, says the Lord, encouraging you, challenging you, rooting up, plowing. I’ve got the rototiller going on you right now. You don’t even know it but I’m churning up the ground because I’ve got good things that I’m planting. There’s not a lot of fallow ground in you right now. There’s just so much opportunity around your life for me just to drop in seeds and water and bring things out, so keep going, says the Lord.
Keep trusting. Embrace the process. Embrace what I’m doing. You’re not behind schedule. You’re not missing something. There’s not some great thing you could be doing today. You’ve got the time to do what you’ve got to do and be where you’ve got to be. I’m getting you there, says the Lord.
